Pierced Paper Binding
This decorated binding is a modern twist on a 16th century pierced vellum binding method. In this workshop we will sew the textblock is on vellum supports and hand-sew endbands. Participants will cut and punch patterns on a cover of handmade paper before painted boards are adhered to the inside. The textblock is laced into the cover to complete this binding. Participants will go home with a completed book and handouts for use at home.
This workshop runs 2 1/2 to 3 days.
